The BP1 is designed to enhance the low mid-range frequencies of your bass, providing clarity and definition that helps your sound stand out in any mix.
By adding depth and dynamics, it ensures that your bass not only occupies space but also contributes to the overall musicality, and makes playing so much more fun and rewarding for you.
The built-in transformer balanced D.I. enhances audio fidelity for bass performances, ensuring vibrant and dynamic sound in live settings.
By replacing inferior DI boxes that can compromise audio quality, you preserve the rich tonal characteristics of your instruments.

CONTROLS
The GAIN potentiometer controls how hard you drive the preamp.
Higher gain will push the preamp more and add a touch of natural analogue compression.
The LEVEL potentiometer controls the overall output of the preamp.
REAR CONNECTIONS
1/4″ TS mono jack – this is the instrument input.
Gold-plated Neutrik XLR input.
The BP1W features a transformer balanced input, designed to handle input from a Wireless System.
The input is transformer balanced to ensure no hum/noise, when connecting a Wireless System.
Gold-plated Neutrik XLR output.
The D.I. output is transformer balanced to avoid any hum/noise issues, and eliminates the need for an external D.I./Line Driver.
This output is designed for loads of 2Kohm or higher, making it perfect for mixing consoles / DAW.
This is a Line Level output – NOT mic. level – so make sure that the input gain on your mixing desk / DAW is set to its minimum. If a Line Channel is available, you should use that.
1/4″ TS mono jacks. The switchable loop is placed after the input buffer, but before the preamp.
This is the perfect spot for connecting your stomp boxes.
Connect the input of your first stomp box to the LOOP SEND jack – and the output from your last stomp box to the LOOP RETURN jack.
When the loop is OFF, your stomp boxes are out of your signal chain. Switching is instant and silent.
1/4″ TRS stereo jack.
The AMP OUT is transformer balanced to avoid any hum/noise issues when connecting an external amplifier.

“The BP1 and BP1 Compact are superb bass guitar preamps: they deliver slightly different audio performances but both are of the highest quality and suitable for live and/or studio. (…) Powered up, both were essentially silent.
Playing bass through the BP1 for the first time was a revelation, the pedal delivering a crisp, clear definition to every note, most notably in the bass and low midrange, without ever sounding harsh.
The Compact delivered the same clear definition and gain‑driven saturation.
The Caveman Audio BP1 and BP1 Compact are both superb bass preamps that deliver sonic performances which completely justify their price.”

“Lows, mids and highs – Clarity !
Just plug it in – instant hit.The nuanced response I’m getting
makes it a necessity on my board !”
“This weekend I started using the BP1 and BC1 compressor in both live and (home) studio contexts,
and I just wanted to personally thank you for designing such outstanding tools for bass players. From the first moment I plugged in, I was struck by how your gear enhances every aspect of my tone—subtly, yet unmistakably.
The low end feels fuller, the highs are more articulate but not harsh, and the overall definition and clarity have noticeably improved.
There’s more of the instrument in the sound—more string, more touch, more feel.
It brings out the best of my Sadowsky bass and the sound inspires me musically. In a recent live church setting past Sunday, not only did I feel more connected to my sound, but I also received great feedback from both the sound engineer and fellow musicians.
Without telling them I had new gear, they commented on how warm, tight, and present the bass sounded in the mix.
They noticed! We use IEM and silent stage!Thank you again for your dedication to quality, musicality, and craftsmanship.
Your work makes a real difference, and it’s deeply appreciated.Blown away…”
